Hmm...It says 'friend'. Nicole would be an obvious first choice. We've already played with Bunnie being taken over so I don't think it would be a repeat of her. The only other cybernetic mobian in New Mobotropolis I can think of is Sonic's dad and that's more family than friend; though those two categories can overlap. If Sonic befreinds Omega between now and then it could be him but that's a real longshot. If Tommy Turtle was still alive Regina could take controll of his nanites but luckily that's not an option these days. ; )

Well ... if we want to take the most direct approach I could say that Regina gets a hold of Sonic's hearing implant (Teehee. Remember that?) and gets into his head. Then she tells him to burn things. Like Mobotropolis for example.

But yeah it's probably NICOLE.

These being the same solicits that sometimes just describe the covers anyway. Given the target demographic for the series, I can't help feeling as though we over-analyse these things sometimes, and credit them with being a bit more cryptic than they actually are.

Can't disagree there. I've absolutely always despised his artwork. It's not the worst the series has offered (Many Hands, Ron Lim), but I'm greatly disturbed at the little knees or the chin muscle and the big, big, biiiiiiiiiiig eye pupils he draws. They just bother the hell out of me. For that matter, I wasn't a fan of him adding his own personal little touches on other artist's artwork when he was still writing. Penders, I know you're a perfectionist (so am I), but have a little faith in them!
