I'm not suprised that the game has gotten an array of 7's and 8's. Despite the non-Sonic gimmick, I figured it'd end up rather well.

South Island - The SegaSonic & Sonic Team Forum! Welcome to South Island! Pull up a chair, grab a daquiri (non-alcoholic of course) and chill next to the old airplane for a while. ^_^ This is the spot for the gamers to come in and chat on the ORIGINAL Sonic. It's not just SegaSonic on discussion here, but Sonic's anime incarnations(Sonic X, the Movie/OVA, etc.) and general Sonic Team - Yuji Naka, Naoto Oshima, Phantasy Star Online, NiGHTS Into Dreams, and Samba! I've never taken an IGN review to heart, especially if it's a Sonic game. Unless it's Gears or MGS, IGN usually hates the world.

How is this game? If it's just slice and dice and run, it's probably not worth it. Never played it though.

God, really looking forward to getting Black Knight this weekend- especially since I'll get to just laze around the house playing it nonstop after having
to write- and I'm not kidding- four two- to four-page papers this week. *screams*
"If you know you're going to make an idiot out of yourself in public, you might as well have fun with it!" (Grins idiotically) -Me, on my philosophy on life Me to myself: "One of these days, I'm gonna go without my Ritalin so I can come up with a Quote Of The Whenever." |

So I've now played many levels past the end of the story, and this game keeps getting better and better. After the fifth boss the game begins to get more
challenging, and I've now run into several levels that I simply cannot beat. The improved difficulty is really welcome and I'm having a blast. In
addition, levels are getting longer and more unique, and I've run into a lot of new gameplay features that were absent while still playing through the
story. New enemies are popping up and I finally have use for the many potions in the game which prevent things like confusion, petrification, freezing, etc.
And best yet, today I discovered three levels called "Legacy" which feature speed boosts, bumpers, actual rings, those flying Eggrobos from Sonic
Heroes (I forget if they had an official name), and the homing attack actually works as an attack (although the sword is still an option). I really can't
get enough of this game right now. The design is truly quite clever in that the more you play the better things get. Wonderful!

How do you get the "Legacy" levels?

The open just like the others, by beating certain levels. But the Legacy missions read "Legacy: Reach The Goal" or something similar.

Wow, the dialogue is amazingly good. The voice acting is not so great but in every scene the dialogue and chemistry of Sonic vs. everybody is right on.

Review by Roger Hargreaves - We've run out of rationalisations for what Sega is doing with Sonic The Hedgehog.

Talk about over-exagerrating. The game's not THAT bad.

Saying something is "not that bad" implies it is still bad in a way. From what I saw from YT videos, it doesn't look "2/10"-kind of bad, but it looks dull enough for me to not even considering renting the game. |

"Wow, SEGA put a lot of effort into this game!" "Not that the last Sonic game is any frame of reference. F****rs" What are the odds Sega never intended that line to be in the game. But the developers slipped it in and got away with it somehow. Wishful thinking that Sega is actually capable of a trait called humility.

I've heard some mumblings that this game bombed big time, nothing official, but has anyone seen anything?

The rumblings, I heard was that the game debuted at number 30 on the UK's top 40 charts which is pretty terrible for a Sonic game--especially for a Wii one. I guess people would rather play a new House of the Dead(which is doing pretty well on the other hand) over a new Sonic game. |
