When did we last see Sonic and the FFs get involved with anything that didn't pose a direct threat to the Kingdom of Acorn or attack there first? He talks about saving Mobius, but he doesn't get out on the ground much. He hasn't seen Khan or Khan's part of the planet for years - that's for other FF groups to deal with. And rather than contacting those groups and/or getting out there and seeing what Robotnik did to the rest of the planet and whether anyone needs help, the Acorns're holding a thoroughly frivolous rock concert. Knothole, Mobotropolis and the royal family's general turf is an awfully inward-looking environment, really. As has been said so many times before: Sonic's a figurehead, and all Khan's doing is asking why and exactly what Sonic did for anyone who wasn't threatening his inner clique recently, by crashing the adolescent triumphalism party and pointing out that there's the peace to win as well as the war. As with the Prowers in House of Cards, if we were seeing this self-congratulatory flurry of mutual back-slapping from the perspective of the people on the outside, maybe we wouldn't be too happy, either. As with the Prowers in House of Cards, if we were seeing this self-congratulatory flurry of mutual back-slapping from the perspective of the people on the outside, maybe we wouldn't be too happy, either. Yes, there were other threats to Mobian peace, but Dr. Robotnik was the main threat, one that the Acornian kingdom had been dealing with, almost personally. Having defeating him, they thought it was over. And granted, King Max tried to make contact with everyone else, but they backed out and it was revealed around #175 that Robotnik was purposely blocking all communications to the Freedom Fighters from... anywhere else really. (Except GUN apparently, but they're special anyways. :P) On top of all that, there's the Council to consider. They have to approve all the fights and wars that involve the FFs, so even if they knew about it, they would have to convince the Council to ok a completely offensive attack on a new threat when her motives hadn't even been clarified. It wouldn't be the first time a character did this. Knuckles pretty much screwed Angel Island over in the same fashion several issues ago, preferring to worry more about Robotnik than his own home and people. Are you referring to Knuckles pre or post the most recent Enerjak incident? If it's before the whole Enerjak/Knuckles incident that you're referring to (even though that could still kind of be debated too), then you can pretty much ignore the next paragraph. Knuckles didn't screw anybody over within the last several issues that I can remember. The echidnas are safely hidden away from everybody else in Albion, and are seemingly all presumed dead by the Eggman Empire (aside from the DEL). The echidnas don't really need careful watching right now, and despite this Archimedes is probably keeping a watch on them and the Master Emerald. Meanwhile Knuckles is away, helping to take out the one dictator who probably does pose the greatest threat, since he actually does know where Albion is. That's not even mentioning that Eggman has tried on several occasions to steal the Master Emerald, is currently using part of Knuckles race/family (who Knux has been trying to free/dissuade against their allegiances with Robotnik) and is enslaving the rest of Mobius. I'm sorry, but I don't really see the logic that Knuckles has basically "screwed them over" by deciding to focus on Eggman for a little while longer and strike him down while the iron was still hot. To be fair though, look at what they've had to deal with recently: uprising, demigod, world dictator trying to wipe them off the face of the earth, a would be king with all the powers of their greatest hero and some...etc.

He's still feeling unsatisfied with how things ended, And I don't think he wanted his fight to be over. So yeah Now is the time where a "World Tour" would be necessary to see what else he can do to help. Khan shoulda came back and been all "Yo Eggman's gone. Come with me real quick I got a prob!" But this is an adventure comic, we need excitement and simian flinging po--err prose around is perfect. Also <3<3@ Espio. Hee hee hee

Seeing how depressed Sonic is about the incident it wouldn't be hard to imagine that he'd want to be alone for a while if they wanted to go that route. Sally told him that he had to find out what to do from there for himself and he may not have been able to do that in Mobotropolis. Instead of heading off for the sole purpose of defeating sub-bosses he goes to take inventory with some of his old friends or allies to ask for their advice ... or something. I don't know. Maybe this time around they wouldn't follow just Sonic on his World Tour. They could've had the Freedom Fighters back in Mobotropolis fighting Snively / Regina and followed Sonic's progress in backstories or Sonic Universe. That format's slightly different from what happened last time. They don't seem to be going that route so it's nothing more then a thought.

Yea, it looks like the Iron Queen is going to be giving Sonic plenty to do near home while Eggman is recovering. So, it doesn't seem Sonic will be going on a World tour, which I am happy about because that is what happened last time, and Sonic going off alone for a long time seems to serve the purpose of distancing him from his friends most of the time.

He's here right now and he still seems distant to me. Might just be my imagination but things haven't really been the same since he returned from space. I mean between him and his friends.

He's a "year" behind everyone in terms of their experiences with Eggman and how well Eggman's done in blocking their contact with the rest of the world. Yeah sure, Sonic got in a few battles, traveled to different worlds and learned alot, but he got whupped when he came back. He wasn't up to par since 132 or whenever it was. I think it was 175 that showed Sonic just how much behind he's been (I mean really, Eggman took what , since Ish 125-to make a suit that can withstand the hedgehog at anything, and yet it still gets dented when Sonic goes "all out"? I'd be pissed too if he dented my shield. Would make me realize that the hedgehog might not be out of tricks yet.) and 200 was Sonics way of saying "You had it. I caught up again. I'm where I should be when fighting you, and I'm only getting better" , driving Eggman mad. But since it took Sonic this long, I think the rest of his pals kinda had to make themselves cohesive without him, and even though they're glad he's back...they may have that bond without him-that he can't fully integrate again-once more. That, or Sonic's just too cool with his soap shoes n_n. Hee hee hee
